چکیده

There has been increasing concern regarding the cosmetic aspects of skin in recent years. Computational simulation can be useful in understanding the mechanism underlying skin formation. The bottom of the epidermis is called the basal layer and is very undulation. In this study, we focus on the basal layer formation. We created a particle model, which forms an undulation basal layer and regenerates the basal layer formation by numerical simulation. At first, two-dimensional basal layer formation without epidermal turnover was simulated. The results showed film shape changes and the stability, as a layer in the process of long-time with an increase and decrease of basal cells. Next, the model was applied to three-dimensional basal layer formation with epidermal turnover. As the structure of the basal layer was deformed, the upper structure of the epidermis comprising the cells divided from the basal layer also became irregular. The simulation results accurately represented and reproduced the three-dimensional basal layer formation and epidermis turnover process.

Simulation of particle diffusion and heat transfer in a two-phase turbulent boundary layer using the Eulerian-Eulerian approach

This work investigates the response of two-dimensional, turbulent boundary layer characteristics over a flat plate to the presence of suspended particulate matter. Both phases are assumed to be interacting continua. That is, the carrier fluid equations are considered to be coupled with the particle-phase equations. A finite-difference technique with non-uniform grid has been employed for the so...

Basal cell carcinoma superimposed on an old scar of localized cutaneous Leishmaniasis: A case report

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common malignant tumor of the skin, which originates from the basal cell layer of the skin. It is more common in white race with skin types I and II. Some predisposing factors are sunlight, ionizing radiation, arsenic salts, PUVA and scar. We present a case of BCC, which appeared over an old scar of localized cutaneous leishmaniasis in a 49-year-old woman.

Eulerian Lagrangian Simulation of Particle Capture and Dendrite Formation on Binary Fibers

The capture efficiency of the small aerosol particle is strongly influenced by the structure of fibrous layers. This study presents particle deposition and dendrite formation on different arrangements of binary fibers. 2-D numerical simulation is performed using the open source software of OpenFOAM. In the instantaneous filtration of a single fiber, obtained results are in good agreement with th...

16-P018 Cell polarity in the node for basal body positioning and nodal flow

Then they differentiate into ciliated cells by intercalating radially into the outer layer during mid neurulae stages. We show that dystroglycan (DG), a transmembrane receptor linking the extracellular matrix to the cytoskeleton, is expressed in cells of the inner layer. The mRNA and proteins are expressed when skin epithelialisation begins and disappeared at tail bud stage when the larval skin...

Background and Aim: Vitiligo is an skin condition that results in the skin depigmentation. The implementation of a basal cell layer suspension is a novel treatment in cases with recalcitrant vitiligo. In this study, the efficacy of topical calcipotriol on the implementation site with basal cell layer suspension versus basal cell layer suspension application alone was compared. Methods: In th...
